Prof. Dr. Günter Dhom

President of DGI & Dean, Steinbeis University, Germany is a specialist in oral surgery and operates a private practice in Ludwigshafen, specializing in implantology. He is an instructor and lecturer in various fields of dentistry. He was secretary of the continuing education courses of the DGI for eight years and in this capacity created the “Curriculum Implantology” program. Since 2003 he has been chairman of the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) in the DGZMK and a member of the board of the DGZMK

Prof. Dr. Gerhard Iglhaut

He is a specialist in oral surgery and practises independently in Memmingen. He lectures nationally and internationally on implantology, periodontology, plasticperiodotology, and periodontal micro-surgery. He is an instructor for the DGI/APW on theCurriculum studies program and a member of numerous dental organizations, including the Neue Gruppe, the DGI, the DGP, and the AAP. In 2004 he was elected a member of theexecutive board of the DGI and in 2005 became secretary for continuing education. He is currently the Chairman for Continuing Education.

Dr. Karl-Ludwig Ackermann

He is a specialist in oral surgery. He currently operates a joint private practice in Filderstadt with Dr. Axel Kirsch. Since 1980 his clinical and research work has focussed on Implantology. He is a member of the board of the DGI and a specialist in periodontics of the European Dental Association (EDA). He holds a teaching post at the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) and also lectures in the implant-prosthetics and perio-prosthetics program at the Charité Hospital of the Humboldt University Berlin. He is a visiting lecturer at the Oral Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital Ulm and a guest professor at the Nippon Dental University Niigata.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Hendrik Terheyden

He is associate director and assistant medical director of the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Schleswig-Holstein Dental School. He is an accredited specialist for plastic operations, a fellow of the European Board of Craniomaxillo-facial Surgeons and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Since 2002 he has been an executive board member and secretary of the DGI.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Henning Schliephake

He is director of the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Georg-August University Göttingen. His research focuses on reconstructive microsurgery, tissue engineering, growth factors, biomaterials, and quality of life issues in head and neck surgery. He is an instructor on the Curricula studies programs offered by the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) of the German Society of Dental, Oral and Craniomandibular Sciences (DGZMK) and the DGI and associate professor for oral implantology at the Steinbeis University Berlin. He is a member of many national and international scientific associations. In addition Schliephake is co-editor of many national and international dental journals. He has been awarded prizes for his academic presentations at many congresses. He was president of the DGI from 2004 to 2006 and in 2007 was made president elect of the DGZMK.

Dr. Josef Diemer

completed his dental training in 1984 at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. After dental school he underwent a 3-year oral surgery program at the Diakonie Hospital and also at the Johannes Gutenberg University receiving his degree in Oral Surgery in 1988. In 1989 he opened a private practice in his hometown of Meckenbeuren, Germany. Dr. Diemer has continued his education to become a specialist in implantology, periodontology and endodontology. In 2006, he completed Level I-IV of "Complete Bioesthetic Rehabilitation". He was President of the German Association of Endodontics from 2001-2003 and is an active board member of the European Dental Association and president elect of the Kempten Study Group. Dr. Diemer is also a member of numerous associations.

Prof. Dr. Dilip Deshpande

(MDS Prosthodontics, Nair Dental College, Mumbai) is a well-known Maxillo-facial Prosthodontist and Implantologist having his private practice at Mahim, Mumbai and Consultant to Lilavati Hospital. The past Professor & HOD, Dept of Prosthodontics, Nair Dental College, he studied Implantology in Germany in 1987. His prolific implant practice has dentist-visitors and patients from all over the world. He has used several implant systems including IMZ, Branemark and Frialit-2 and currently uses EZ Hi-Tec & Endopore. He is considered to have the widest experience in the field of implantology and has pioneered several new techniques and applications. He is Honorary DGI member and was conferred Honorary Fellow and Diplomate ICOI.
