Dr. Karl-Ludwig Ackermann
Filderstadt
 
Karl-Ludwig Ackermann is a specialist in oral surgery. He currently operates a joint private
practice in Filderstadt with Dr. Axel Kirsch. Since 1980 his clinical and research work has focused on implantology. He is a member of the board of the DGI and a specialist in peri- odontics of the European Dental Association (EDA). He holds a teaching post at the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) and also lectures in the implant-prosthetics and perio-prosthetics program at the Charité Hospital of the Humboldt University Berlin. He is a visiting lecturer at the Oral Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital Ulm and a guest
professor at the Nippon Dental University Niigata.
Prof. Dr. Günter Dhom
Ludwigshafen
 
Günter Dohm is a specialist in oral surgery and operates a private practice in Ludwigshafen,
specializing in implantology. He is an instructor and lecturer in various fields of dentistry.
He was secretary of the continuing education courses of the DGI for eight years and in this
capacity created the »Curriculum Implantology« program. Since 2003 he has been chairman of the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) in the DGZMK and a member of
the board of the DGZMK. He became vice-president of the DGI in 2005 & is now the
President of DGI
Dr. Gerhard Michael Iglhaut
Memmingen
 
Gerhard Iglhaut is a specialist in oral surgery and practises independently in Memmingen.
He lectures nationally and internationally on implantology, periodontology, plastic periodon-
tology, and periodontal micro-surgery. He is an instructor for the DGI/APW on the
Curriculum studies program and a member of numerous dental organizations, including the
Neue Gruppe, the DGI, the DGP, and the AAP. In 2004 he was elected a member of the
executive board of the DGI and in 2005 became secretary for continuing education.
     
Prof. Dr. Dr. Friedrich Wilhelm Neukam
Erlangen
 
Friedrich Wilhelm Neukam is director of the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the
University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is associate editor of numerous national and international dental journals and served as president of the DGI from 2000 to 2002. Currently he is a member of the executive board and president elect of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) and holds an honorary professorship at the University of Moscow. His teaching videos for continuing education have won prizes in many international competitions. His professional work focuses on microsurgical hart- and softtissue reconstruction, endoscopic surgery of the mandibular joint, cleft lip, jaw, and palate surgery including orthopaedic surgery, surgical oncology, traumatology of the cranium, and implantology.
Prof. Dr. Dr. H. Terheyden
Kiel
 
Hendrik Terheyden is associate director and assistant medical director of the Clinic for Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Schleswig-Holstein Dental School. He is an
accredited specialist for plastic operations, a fellow of the European Board of Craniomaxillo-
facial Surgeons and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial
Surgery. Since 2002 he has been an executive board member and secretary of the DGI.
Prof. Dr. Zvi Artzi
Israel
 

Prof. Zvi Artzi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the School of Dental Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel.

He is also the Director of the Graduate Program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.

Prof. Artzi received his DMD from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Hadassah Medical Center, the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In 1984, he received his certificate in Periodontology at Tufts University, Boston, Massachusetts.

During the late 90's, Zvi served as the President of the Israel Periodontal Society. He is also a member of the National Board Scientific Council of Periodontology.

Zvi has published over 80 articles and research abstracts in peer-reviewed leading journals in Periodontology and Oral Implantology. In recent years, he has extensively lecturing in scientific conferences and regularly at the AAP, EFP, and ICOI annual meetings. His current main research topics are related to osseointegration, bone regeneration, bone substitutes and advancing surgical modalities.

     
Prof. Dr. Douglas Deporter

Douglas Deporter is a Professor at Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and a co-inventor of Endopore, the sintered porous-surfaced (SPS) implant developed at the University of Toronto. Prof. Deporter received his DDS (In Periodontics) and PhD (in Oral Biology) from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1970 and 1974 respectively.

Was project leader for New surfaces with a leading dental implant manufacturer in Switzerland Advisor to several dental and orthopedics companies. Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Biomedical Material Research Member of several International Implants and Biomaterial Societies. Authored many papers related to Implant surface, Immediate Loading and Clinical research. He is presently extensively involved into the research & development of Ultrasonic bone surgery and Ultrasonic soft tissue surgery.
