an instructor and lecturer in various
fields of dentistry.
He was secretary of the continuing education
courses of the DGI for eight years and

Implantology« program. Since 2003
he has been chairman of the Academy
of Practice and Science (APW) in the
DGZMK and a member of
the board of the DGZMK. He became vice-president
of the DGI in 2005 & is now the
President of DGI |

Gerhard Michael Iglhaut

Gerhard
Iglhaut is a specialist in oral surgery
and practises independently in Memmingen.
He lectures nationally and internationally
on implantology, periodontology, plastic
periodon-
tology, and periodontal micro-surgery.
He is an instructor for the DGI/APW
on the
Curriculum studies program and a member
of numerous dental organizations, including
the
Neue Gruppe, the DGI, the DGP, and the
AAP. In 2004 he was elected a member
of the
executive board of the DGI and in 2005
became secretary for continuing education. |

Friedrich Wilhelm Neukam
is director of the Clinic for Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at the
University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He
is associate editor of numerous national
and international dental journals and
served as president of the DGI from
2000 to 2002. Currently he is a member
of the executive board and president
elect of the European Association for
Osseointegration (EAO) and holds an
honorary professorship at the University
of Moscow. His teaching videos for continuing
education have won prizes in many international
competitions. His professional work
focuses on microsurgical hart- and softtissue
reconstruction, endoscopic surgery of
the mandibular joint, cleft lip, jaw,
and palate surgery including orthopaedic
surgery, surgical oncology, traumatology
of the cranium, and implantology. |

editorial board of the Journal of Oral

Dr. Zvi Artzi

Prof.
Zvi Artzi is an Associate Professor
in the Department of Periodontology
at the School of Dental Medicine,
Tel Aviv University, Israel.
He is also the Director of the Graduate
Program in Periodontics and Implant
Dentistry.
Prof. Artzi received his DMD from
the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Hadassah
Medical Center, the Hebrew University,
Jerusalem. In 1984, he received his
certificate in Periodontology at Tufts
University, Boston, Massachusetts.
During the late 90's, Zvi served
as the President of the Israel Periodontal
Society. He is also a member of the
National Board Scientific Council
of Periodontology.
Zvi has published over 80 articles
and research abstracts in peer-reviewed
leading journals in Periodontology
and Oral Implantology. In recent years,
he has extensively lecturing in scientific
conferences and regularly at the AAP,
EFP, and ICOI annual meetings. His
current main research topics are related
to osseointegration, bone regeneration,
bone substitutes and advancing surgical
modalities. |

from the Faculty of Dentistry, University
